“They come from tough backgrounds; single parent households, gang affiliations and abuse. At the gym, Cosmo Zimik tells them they are warriors and trains them to be champions in martial arts. But something else happens when Zimik and other volunteers spend time with them — they learn they have something worth fighting for both inside and outside of the gym. For many, that’s enough to turn their lives around.”

Idaho Press Tribune, April 30, 2013

“The kids of the world have Cosmo Zimik watching their backs.”

Idaho Business Review, March 30, 2010

Cosmo from Empty Hand Combat has graciously hosted Kids from City Light Home for Women and Children every summer for many years! He teaches them to love themselves and God. He gives them self control and love and never lets them leave with out a good role model to look up to. I would recommend Cosmo and his Dojo whole heartledly !!!

Our grandchildren started at the dojo 2-1/2 years ago, and I can't say enough good things about the training they have received. It has helped with their interpersonal skills, they physical fitness, and their work at school. I can't think of a part of their lives that hasn't been improved upon because of the lessons they're taught each week. Cosmo and his staff have been a true Godsend in their lives!

I've known Cosmo for over two years now, and I love Empty Hand Combat and the sister gym Empty Hand Warrior Muay Thai. There is so much they offer. This is not only a martial arts gym with experienced teachers, but they offer opportunity for amazing challenges (such as fights outside of the state), outlets for helping the community, and an environment to create quality friendships. Thank you Cosmo and Sarah!!
